AUSTRALIA’S HERITAGE ON SHOW

Life & Style Weekend - - ESCAPE -

Two of Australia’s most famous icons are celebrated at grand galleries at Longreach. The Qantas Founders Museum and Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame sit directly across the road from each other and are well worth a visit. Wander through history, and along the wings of two aeroplanes, at the Qantas Founders Museum with the Platinum Package. You’ll get to stand in the same aeroplane once used by Michael Jackson during your three-hour guided tour of the Boeing 747 and its little brother, the 707. It’s the only place in the world where you can walk out on the wings of both aircraft. Then walk across to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, a tribute to the people of outback Australia. It has numerous galleries celebrating different aspects of rural life throughout our history, from Aboriginal workers in the pastoral industry to rodeos and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Put headphones on and watch videos of stockmen telling their stories or admire the historic pieces of equipment that are on display.
