It was a destination wedding with a difference when Alannah Taylor and James Lester eloped and married in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.

Their ceremony was held at St Joseph’s Cathedral in Avarua, and the happy couple celebrated afterwards at Nautilus Resort.

With no wedding guests, photographer Mitch Pohl was on hand to document the big day for friends and family.

The Lesters, who met through mutual friends, “wedding-mooned” in Rarotonga, before returning home to live in Maroochydore.

“We eloped without anyone knowing, and then surprised all our friends and family with our exciting news three weeks later at our ‘engagement’ party which turned into an incredibly fun wedding celebration,” Alannah said.
