NO TASK IS TOO BIG
NOR IS ANY BUDGET TOO SMALL AS DESIGNERS WORK AROUND THEIR CLIENTS
An extravagant and unaffordable service provided by pretentious and stubborn individuals, whose only interest lies in using the most expensive pieces available while rolling in a bed of your money.
Yes, 0.5 per cent of designers are like this! The rest are simply normal people, living normal lives, providing a wonderful, personal service to their beloved client base.
Interior design services are not an exclusive luxury for the wealthy. In fact, it’s super rare to have an opportunity where the budget is of no restriction.
I personally thrive and derive great satisfaction from projects where a budget is of the essence.
It’s that challenging, ‘think outside the box’ approach to the creative process that I love. When the job is complete and I see that overwhelmed, yet ecstatic look on my client’s face – that, right there is the defining moment of why we do what we do.
Designers and decorators are highly skilled in creating beautiful spaces combining what I like to call the keep, collect, compromise and splurge approach.
With a keen eye for visually appealing things, we have the ability to curate your existing pieces (keep), display vintage treasures you may have collected over time (collect), compromise on new pieces that aren’t required to be of high quality, and splurge on the pieces that do.
We know that a decent capital investment is required for high traffic pieces such as lounge suites and dining tables for durability and, of course, aesthetics.
But we also happen to be the kings and queens of shopping at TK Maxx and Ikea.
I’m not afraid of using the word ‘cheap’. Let’s face it, we don’t walk into Kmart and say “gosh these vases are extremely affordable”, we say “how cheap are these?”
Then we walk out with eight. We group cost-effective smaller furniture and decor pieces with your high quality, super expensive items. This is where chic and unique style starts.
The real skill of a design professional shows itself when a client has a limited budget and we’re required to make the magic happen.
This is where trust comes into play. Mutual respect and trust are a huge part of how an interior will eventually present.
