CEDAR WRAPS A TASTY FIND
HOBART DISCOVERY GIVES YOUR SEAFOOD A LOVELY WOODY, ‘CEDARY’ FLAVOUR WHEN COOKED
I’ve found a new product, I’ve tested it twice and now I want to share it with you all. I was in Tasmania at the beginning of May and while we were in Hobart I visited the Tassel showroom near Salamanca Place. You really are in salmon heaven there.
As I was wandering around looking at all that was on offer I came across some cedar wraps. Intrigued, I read the back of the packet and decided to give them a go. I also bought the cedar boards for barbecuing but that’s a story for another day.
I absolutely love them. It is something different and it gives your seafood a lovely woody, “cedary” flavour when cooked. Admittedly they are designed for the barbecue but the recipe said I could use it in the oven.
The first time I tried a piece of salmon wrapped up, and the next time I tried a smaller piece of salmon wrapped with some prawns, both marinated, and boy, I was just as impressed as the first time. I love these wraps so much we now we stock them in the shop.
