This issue we asked our experts: What keeps you fully entertained after a hard days work?

Jonni Bidwell

I’ve been playing a lot of Transistor lately. It’s a sci-fi action roleplay game with a great story, superb graphics and it’s a whole lot of fun to play. And it works on Linux. That, together my penchant for psytrance music, keep me pretty much entertained as the dark nights draw in.

Neil Bothwick

I think the most enjoyable part of using Linux is the ability to be able to fiddle and tweak everything to my heart’s content. Then one of the least enjoyable parts is trying to work out what I have broken with my excessive fiddling and tweaking and what I need to do to fix it.

HD movies and TV series box sets are great but there’s something really geeky about watching Star Wars over telnet. ASCII art animations depicting Episode4 in all of its glory. Open up a terminal and type in

telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl and remember to grab some popcorn!

Nick Peers

It won’t surprise you to learn – given that I wrote the feature – that the most entertaining thing Linux does for me is serve up my media library on demand through my Raspberry Pi 2. What better way to spend your time than browsing through TV show and movie artwork?

Chris Thornett

My kids keep me entertained – or should I say ‘occupied’ – after a hard day correcting my own typos. Once I’ve thrown water on them and put them to bed – hopefully in the right order – I like to MOOC, watch Netflix on my chrooted Chromebook or sneak either a bit of 2D/3D platforming time on Fez or avoid dying in BannerSaga.
