To aruOS 1.0
New distro alert! ToaruOS is a hobby kernel and userspace made by Kevin Lange and, while it’s been in development since 2010, it is now finally released in a ‘user-ready’ state. According to the release statement ( https://github.com/klange/ toaruos/releases/tag/v1.0.0), it uses a 32-bit monolithic (et modular) Unix-like kernel that ‘supports processes, threads, shared memory, files, pipes, TTYs, packet-based IPC, and basic IPv4 networking’. While you probably won’t want to use ToaruOS 1.0 for your day-to-day OS, it’s great to see the progress the project is making. Find out more at http:// toaruos.org.
