Man vs Olives
Version: f8143a Web: http://bit.ly/2p1Jww4k
Don’t ask, why (and how) people should confront olives, this should be taken for granted, as if you’ve been watching a blockbuster based on a controversial work of fiction.
You steer a man around a scene with three-storey platforms and water below. Your character can move sideways, jump and even go down to the water in order to collect falling coins. There are also jewels that help you gain even higher scores. After collecting all the jewels on one level, you get a key that takes you to the next. But it’s not only coins that fall from above: angry green olives on the first level and terrifying black olives later on keep on falling around you. Strangely, they don’t hurt you when you touch or jump over them, and you can even bump olives to make them move in the opposite direction, which make them look like curling stones. But if an olive hits you from above, you’re dead.
There’s also another way to embrace death: go to the lowest level and wait for the pink swine run over you.
If the above lines sound weird, you have read them correctly. The whole ManvsOlives experience is out of this world. But it is also fun and oddly entertaining with its cosy graphics and a sense of humour in every detail. The game comes from Finland, and it reminded us of Oilwar from LXF204. Both games are incredibly simple, yet not primitive, and very addictive. So, if you need to spend half an hour playing something really fun, Manvs Olives is a strong recommendation. The game runs fine locally after you download the tarball from Github, or you can play the online version at https://softcubicle. com/manvsolives.
