Oggcamp

Sheffield will play host to Oggcamp 2018 on 18 and 19 August. Over the years the organising team has organically become one with the community and now we find that the community are organising the event. Beyond the traditional two days of talks, workshops and stalls, Oggcamp is an expression of admiration for Linux and the community. We urge you to go and enjoy the event, talk to new people and learn more about their projects. More details and ticket information is on the website: www.oggcamp.org.

SteelCo n

The Northern hacker conference takes place in Sheffield on 7 July. We went to the 2016 event and were blown away by the hospitality of the crew and the quality of the talks – explaining how DDOS attacks propagate, and how smart cars can be hacked being highlights. There’s a kids’ track and lots of hardware hacking with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Tickets will go quick, so head over to the website to learn more: www.steelcon.info.
