who we are
This issue… we’re enjoying Mint 19 and rolling-release distributions, but what do you hate the most in your daily distro and how would you change it?
Jonni Bidwell
Hate is such a strong word. And Arch Linux does almost everything so nicely. Having said that, I do hate when Systemd holds up the shutdown process, forcing me to wait 90 seconds or press Ctrl-Alt-Del seven times in two seconds to forcefully reboot. Who comes up with these values and why do they hate ( letthehateflow!–ED) me?
John Knight
Such negativity! I don’t hate anything about Mint itself. However, the Debian packaging system has infuriated me for years. I have the same problems now as I did in 2003, where one little hiccup throws out the entire system! It’s time we came up with something more robust.

“I’m still coming to terms with Ubuntu 18,04 LTS, but aside from the switch from Unity to Gnome, there’s nothing that’s stuck out so far. I still get a little annoyed at how hit-andmiss the SoftwareCentre’s update button is, though. Thank goodness for sudo apt-get upgrade , eh?”
Alexander Tolstoy
Before I discovered the Systemd service that would install all the software updates silently and without my interaction, I hated the updates tyranny on my Tumbleweed machine. The rest seems to be pretty enjoyable!

I’m still using Ubuntu 16.04 on my daily driver and while I use Unity, it still interferes with my workflow. I never click the Ubuntu logo to look for applications; rather, I press the Super key and start typing… or just add another icon to the tray.
