Easy Effects

Audiophiles take note. To get the most oomph from your expensive audio gear, you can use the Easy Effects audio manipulation tool. As its name suggests, the tool helps you apply audio effects to apps managed by PipeWire, with little effort.
It includes dozens of effects, such as an equaliser, exciter, limiter, compressor, reverb tool and lots more.
To complement these it also features a built-in spectrum analyser. With its latest version, you can use the app to not just include multiple effects to a stream, but also change their order as per your audio pleasure.
The tool is included in the repos of several distros but to make sure you have the latest version, just use the Flatpak with flatpak install flathub com.github. wwmm.easyeffects . Once it’s installed, launch it from the distro’s Applications menu or with flatpak run com.github.wwmm.easyeffects .
Audio enthusiasts won’t have any trouble navigating and using the app. Still, there’s a comprehensive manual included, with details about the parameters for each of the included effects, which is pretty useful if you aren’t an audiophile. Because Easy Effects uses the default PipeWire sound server, its developers claim it works with most, if not all, apps on a modern distro.
One convenient feature we particularly like is that Easy Effects remembers the configuration from the last session, and restores it automatically when launched. Of course, you can also save your custom arrangements as profiles that you can call upon whenever required in the future.
Besides manipulating sound output, Easy Effects can also apply effects to an input device, such as a microphone. This isn’t just useful when recording audio, but can also help enhance conservations during online meetings and presentations.
