STEP 1. Make or buy some plain cho­co­late cup­cakes. If you’re mak­ing your own, let them cool com­pletely. Now take your cookie or scone cut­ter and press it into the mid­dle of each cup­cake. Care­fully re­move a small por­tion of each cup­cake, but keep these bits be­cause you’ll need them later. Make sure you don’t press down too hard – we want to leave the bot­tom of each cup­cake in­tact.

STEP 2. Fill the holes in your cup­cakes with mini M&Ms. Press down gen­tly with your fin­gers so the mini M&Ms are tightly packed in­side.

STEP 3. Gen­tly put the tops back into each cup­cake. Use your fin­gers to care­fully push down so your cup­cakes look nor­mal again.

STEP 4. Ice each cup­cake with cho­co­late frost­ing! You can make your own us­ing ic­ing sugar, but­ter and milk, or buy pre-made frost­ing at the su­per­mar­ket. Be gen­tle when ic­ing your cup­cake as you don’t want to dis­turb the tops you squished back in. Then dec­o­rate the cup­cake with 100s and 1000s, and you’re done!
