PREPARING THE BLOCKS

Refer to the Layout Diagrams for each block as you piece. You will make five of each block for the quilt. We recommend working through the instructio­ns as given for one block, and then if desired, chain piecing the remaining four blocks, for each design.

To make the CSTs, refer to p6–7 to use the tool that came with your magazine, or refer to the boxout above.

PIECING THE ORANGE BLOCKS PIECING THE ORANGE BLOCKS

Join a G CST to the bottom right corner of A. Join B to the right side of A to form the leaf unit (Fig 1).

Join a C CST to each corner of F (Fig 2). Join D to the bottom of F, then join E to either side to form the orange unit (Fig 3).

Join the leaf unit to the top of the orange unit to make one orange block. Repeat to make a total of five orange blocks.

PIECING THE PINEAPPLE BLOCKS

Join an I CST to each bottom corner of N, adding the corners one at a time (Fig 4). Repeat to make a second unit.

Join the two units from step 25, then join H to either side to make the pineapple top (Fig 5).

Join a K CST to the top left and top right corners of M. Then join an L CST to the bottom left and bottom right corners (Fig 6). Join J to either side to form the pineapple base.

Join the finished pineapple top to the pineapple base to complete the pineapple block. Repeat to make a total of five pineapple blocks.
