CUTTING OUT

From the orange fabric cut: ■ One (1) 4in square.

From pink B fabric cut: ■ Two (2) 4in squares.

From the yellow fabric cut: ■ Three (3) 4in squares.

From the background fabric cut:

■ Six (6) 4in squares.

■ Two (2) 1¼in x 22in.

From pink A fabric cut: ■ Two (2) 1¼in x 22in.

From blue A fabric cut:

■ Four (4) 4in squares. Cut each square in half on the diagonal to make a total of eight triangles.

7 From blue B fabric cut: ■ Two (2) 1¼in x 22in.

8 From the navy fabric cut: ■ One (1) 2in x 22in.

9 From the binding fabric cut: ■ Two (2) 2½in x WOF.

From the backing fabric cut: ■ Two (2) 12½in x 14in.

MAKING THE TRIANGLE BLOCKS

Using 4in squares, make the following HSTs, using the process in step 17 of the main quilt instructio­ns. Trim each HST unit to 3½in square.

■ Orange/background: two (2) HSTs.

■ Pink B/background: four (4) HSTs.

■ Yellow/background: six (6) HSTs.

Arrange half of the HSTs and sew them together in columns (Fig A). Sew a blue A triangle to the top of each column, aligning the edge at the left side. Then sew a triangle to the right side of the last column referring to Figs B and C on p54 for placement.
