If you love strip rolls as much as we do, our handy templates will become your essential go-to! Get creative and cut not one but four shapes with one set
Use your new templates to speedily cut shapes from strip rolls! You can also cut 2 in strips of fabric in the same way. Stack your strips to cut multiple pieces at the same time to speed things up even more – and with the seam allowance included, you’re good to go!.
SQUARE AND HALF-SQUARE TRIANGLE TEMPLATE
1 To cut squares, place the template on a strip of fabric and cut along either side. Move the template along the strip and continue cutting until you have the desired number of pieces (Fig 1).
2 To cut triangles, place the solid diagonal line along the long edge of the strip so the larger section is on the strip. Trim around the template. Trimming the corners will help when you’re lining up triangles later. Turn your template to cut the next piece (Fig 2). Continue in this same way down the strip to cut all your pieces.
3 Take two of your prepared triangles and place them right sides together. Sew together along the diagonal edge. Press the unit open to create a 2 in square HST (Fig 3).

4 To cut diamonds, place the template on the strip, cut along both sides. Trim the corners using the template (Fig 4). Move the template and cut diamonds in the same way down the strip.
5 To cut triangles, place the solid line along the strip edge with the larger half over the strip. Trim along both sides and bottom two template corners. Rotate to cut the next piece (Fig 5). Continue in the same way along the strip until you have cut all your triangles.
