SECURING YOUR FABRICS
Temporary glue - A popular option for those who like a quick fix, a temporary sewing glue will secure your fabric until you are ready to remove the paper.
Pin - The traditional method to secure your fabric to the paper although you need to make sure you do not sew over the pin or catch it in your machine.
Basting stitch - A very long machine stitch can be used to temporarily hold your fabric in place until you are ready to remove the papers. This can be time consuming, so be warned, but it's a really good option for those smaller, trickier projects; it can also come in handy when you're fussy cutting patterned fabric which requires some more precise, deliberate placement.
