CUTTING OUT

1 From the background fabric cut:

■ Eight (8) 81/2in x WOF. Subcut fifty (50) 81/2in equilateral triangles.

2 From each of Fabrics A, B, C and D cut:

■ Thirteen (13) 21/2in x WOF.

3 From the binding fabric cut:

■ Seven (7) 21/2in x WOF.

PIECING THE QUILT

4 Arrange one of each print fabric strip in order A– D. Sew them together along the long edges, pressing seams open (Fig 1). Repeat with all your print strips for thirteen strip sets. 5 Take one strip set and place it onto

your cutting mat so that the Fabric A print runs along the bottom. Place the

Triangle template on the strip set, with the long edge aligned with Fabric A at the bottom. Trim along both sides to make one triangle, as shown in Fig 2.

6 Rotate the template so the long edge aligns with Fabric D, and cut along the right edge to make the second triangle, as shown in Fig 3. Continue cutting triangles, rotating the template between cuts. You should get a total of four triangles with long Fabric A strips, and three triangles with long Fabric D strips.

7 Repeat the process in steps 5– 6 with a total of six of the strip sets. For the remaining seven strip sets, use the same process, but beginning with Fabric D at the bottom. You will have forty five long Fabric A strip triangles and forty six long Fabric D strip triangles (Fig 4).

8 Arrange the pieced triangles with the background triangles, referring to the Layout Diagram. You will have a few spare
