HOW TO | get your video out to the world
1 Revel in it
At the top-right of the interface is the export menu called Publish+Share. Click on it and the first option is for Adobe’s own cloud service, Revel. Once logged in, you can rename your film, choose where to save it and enable or disable the ability to download your work.
2 Traditional services
If you select Social Websites instead, you can upload to Facebook, Vimeo and YouTube. Each option comes with a series of presets so you can get the best quality out of your video as you can. You need to authorise the app to gain access to your account.
3 Disc media
The Disc option is very interesting, not because of the fact that you can still save your project to disc, but because of all the options it offers you. Select it and the app asks if you want to include a disc menu. Click on Yes and you see a large list of different menus.
4 Customisation
There’s a wealth of categories to choose from, and each comes with a main page and a chapter index. Select one, and the interface changes to allow you to customise it. You can add a background image or video to your front page, or double-click the title to alter it.
5 Chapter markers
You can also create chapter markers throughout your project. Click on the Scenes Menu 1 thumbnail to show those that were automatically created. Move the playhead to a specific location, then click on the Add Marker button to add a new chapter marker.
6 Marker options
You can double-click on a chapter’s title to rename it. By default, the marker you’ve created is a Chapter Marker, which means a link is created from the scenes menu and you can skip to it with your remote. But you can convert it to one of two other options.
7 Customise and burn
You can also choose to have your thumbnails animated or static on an individual basis. Should you wish to have them all animated, click ‘Apply to all Marker Buttons’. When happy with the results, click on Done, go back to the DVD option and burn your disc.
8 iOS export
For exporting to mobile devices, choose the last option: Mobile Phones and Players. As you’d expect, the first choice is for your iOS devices, but you can also export your work in Sony PSP format or for a generic mobile phone. Click on Advanced to tweak those settings.
