HOWTO | Get started with Fetchnotes

-

1 Sign up

The first time you open Fetchnotes, you’re asked if you’d like it to be able to send push notifications. We suggest you allow this, because it means you get notified whenever someone you’ve shared a note with edits it. Tap Next twice, followed by ‘Sign Up Or Log In’, then ‘New To Fetchnotes? Sign Up’. Type in the username you’d like, your email address and the password you use for your Fetchnotes account. Then tap Done. A few seconds later, you’re asked who you’d like to share the app with.

2 Invite others

Start typing someone’s name into the box, and Fetchnotes requests access to your Contacts. Grant it access, and continue typing the person’s name until they appear in the list. Tap their name, then choose how you’d like to tell them about Fetchnotes (by email, iMessage and so on). This sends the invite instantly. Repeat this process as required for any others you’d like to share your notes with. Alternatively, if you don’t want to send any invitations just yet, tap Skip, which takes you to the main screen.

3 Your first note

Your first view of the home screen is a blank area with a green button at the bottom. Tap this now to create your first note. You can simply start to type out your thoughts here, jotting things down as they come to you. Before you write too much, tap the green tick in the top-right corner to save your work. When you do, you’re returned to the Fetchnotes home screen, with your newly created note at the top. Tap it once to view the contents, and tap again to continue working on it.
