Arcadia
This isn’t the first time that the excellent Touchpress has departed from science, history and music to look at literature. Arcadia by Iain Pears is a far cry from The Waste Land, which was a historical analysis of T.S. Eliot’s masterpiece. Arcadia is an original novel written just for iOS devices. It charts ten characters across three storylines and is similar to create-your-own-adventure apps such as Scorcery! and 80 Days. However, those are firmly on the gaming side of things, whereas Arcadia is most definitely a novel, weaving its tale of intrigue and adventure through intersecting and diverging stories, and placing all in the hands of the reader.
