Apple history: Mac mini
The original Mac mini was introduced in January 2005. It was intended to woo PC users that might not want to replace their monitor, keyboard or mouse. But it was also Apple’s smallest and cheapest Mac by quite a margin. You could carry it between home and work as easily as an external drive and it was powerful enough to use as a discrete media server in the living room. The neat stackability of the design also made it great as a home NAS server, tucked away in a cupboard.
