Get started with smart assistants
Personally, I’m not entirely convinced that adage is true – Facebook, for example, might make a fair few bucks from processing and sharing metrics of its user data, but I’ve seen the ad rates on there. They’re hilariously high. Applying the same thinking to smart assistants, though? That’s the most intimate, direct data any company is likely to get. While the likes of Siri and Alexa aren’t listening to everything at all times, they definitely remember. Be careful what you say.
My perspective is that I have nothing to hide. If Google wants to analyse the results of it failing to hear what I’ve asked for the nth time, it’s welcome to waste precious server seconds doing so. If only it could also hear the giggles of my kids as I pour exasperated admonishment on its stupid robot ears afterwards. Perhaps that would be worth a couple of pennies.
