Clipboard add-on for iOS gains compelling enhancements

Apple’s built-in Clipboard in iOS is limited in features, but Yoink helps fill the gaps, giving you a ‘shelf’ on which to store

things temporarily. You can add files, images, text, video and more to it, then use some or all of them elsewhere using drag and drop, copy and paste, or a Share sheet extension.

Previously, we’ve praised Yoink’s ease of use on iPad, where it can be opened alongside another app using iOS’s Slide Over or Split View features. Version 2 improves the app further. Crucially, it can sync its shelf’s contents across your iOS devices via iCloud – and, with a later update, the Mac version, too. There’s also support for Handoff to move things between devices when you have no internet connection.

You can now search by typing (rather than scrolling), edit text snippets within Yoink, and make things easy on your eyes with dark mode.
