Clean up your iOS device

Claw back loads of storage space on your iPhone and iPad

-

Whether you are thinking of migrating to a new iOS device or your existing one is creaking at the seams,

it’s worth cleaning it up. This used to require a brute-force approach – deleting apps and games, and removing photos and videos. But now, Apple provides tools for managing storage more cleverly, as shown below.

However, it’s worth making a manual sweep of your device too. Look on your Home screen for apps and games you’ve not used in a long time. If unsure about removing them, place them in a folder with a date. Those that you don’t open over the next six months are prime targets for removal. Just remember to export any data within them before deleting.

?? ?? If your Home screen has a similar number of pages and folders to this, and you don’t review apps and games for a living, it’s probably time for a clear-out.
