Print speeds for different job types

If getting your pages in your hand as quickly as possible is critical for you, the results of our speed tests will be enlightening. We printed a complex eight-page brochure, first single sided and then duplex to test the double-sided printing capabilities of each printer. We also printed a simple word processing document from Pages to see how quickly each device could go from the initial print command to delivering the first page.

The Brother and Kyocera printers achieved similar fast times for the brochure test, but the Brother took first place for the simple ‘first page out’ speed test. The Epson performed acceptably, although not admirably, for both the simple document test and the more complex brochure. The Canon’s performance for simple documents wasn’t far behind that, but it was a clear last for the brochure and duplex tests.
