Brother MFC-J5330DW
The best features, costs and convenience
For us, the Canon Pixma TS6251, while generally good and impressively compact, didn’t quite stand out. The Brother MFC-J5330DW, with its A3 paper support and generally fast performance, is an attractive option, while the Kyocera Ecosys M5521CDW is quick and its cartridges last over twice as long as the others. Both of these printers are quite large, which will be a negative point for some. The Epson XP-7100 is almost as small as the Canon yet has a document feeder and can scan as well as print duplex.
It boils down to a balance of features, running costs and general convenience. Despite costing the most per print, the Kyocera Ecosys M5521cdw ticks a lot of boxes for us. But in the end, it’s the Brother MFCJ5330DW with its A3 paper handling, lowest per-page running costs and great scan and print speeds that wins the ultimate prize.
The Brother MFC-J5330DW, with its A3 paper support, per-page running costs and good speed results, wins the prize.
