WATCH FALL DETECTION

One of the most notable additions to the Apple Watch Series 4 is it’s fall-detection ability. According to Popular Science, Apple trained the Watch using realworld fall data. The info was taken from Watch wearers at a movement disorder clinic, assisted living facilities, and friends and families of Apple employees – 2,500 people in total. The data had to come from real falls (and not simulated events) to make it as accurate as possible. It was also trained to distinguish a fall from other actions, like flopping onto a bed.
