Networking quick-fire questions

-

Is my Mac compatible with IPv6 networking?

> Yes, Macs have been fully compatible since Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. If your ISP has advised that you’ll be moving to IPv6, check your other network hardware, such as old network switches and even some routers, which may need to be replaced.

Can I have both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi active?

> Yes. This is a common scenario on Macs, enabling use of features like Handoff. In most cases, you’ll want to prioritise the wired connection. Once you’ve turned on Wi-Fi in the Network pane, click the gear, pick Set Service Order and drag Ethernet to the top. Each connection will have its own IP address.
