iPad mini

An endangered species? You may be surprised…

-

Back in 2012, a 7.9in iPad was a great idea: versatility in a cheaper, more portable form. Today, it’s still one-third lighter than a 9.7in iPad, but costs £80 more. That includes a 128GB of storage, targeting a dwindling enterprise user base. If you go for 128GB on the 9.7in, the mini is only a tenner less yet has a quarter of the pixels and no Pencil support. Now that the big iPads are so slim and light, there’s little need for a mini. A dead product? Well, so we thought until analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted an update for early 2019…

Speaking of a potential farewell, the iPod touch was last updated in 2015, and is highly likely to be axed. That would mark the end of the iPod.
