Our top picks of the month for Mac and iOS
The complete pro level design suite comes to the Mac
It’s not often that a truly heavyweight app comes along – and this one’s arriving on the Mac for the very first time. A Windows stalwart, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite is finally available on macOS, albeit at the hefty price of £40 per month (via the Mac App Store) or £299 per year. (A lifetime licence is £599.)
Aimed at graphic design pros, the Graphics Suite actually combines six different apps – CorelDRAW, Corel Photo-Paint, Corel Font Manager, Corel PowerTrace, CorelDRAW.app, and Corel AfterShot. These programs enable you to do everything from creating page layouts and vector illustrations, to photo editing and font management. You can even use it the suite to convert bitmaps into editable graphics, or collaborate with others online. It’s clearly not for everyone, but if you’re after an alternative to Adobe Creative Suite, it’s well worth a look.
