How to Crop and straighten images >
1 Typical problems
This shot’s horizon is tilting at an angle. It also lacks balance due to the offset lampposts. The chap on the right is neither in or out of the frame. Click Edit. Click the Crop button, then choose Original Aspect ratio.
2 Rotate and crop
Drag the rotate wheel to counteract the tilted horizon. Drag the corner handles to crop the shot and lose any distraction at the edges (eg, the man on the right). A rule of thirds overlay grid helps you create a more balanced composition. Click Done.
3 Perspectival distortion
The iOS Photos app enables you to counteract perspectival distortion, where a building’s vertical lines converge towards the top. Tap Crop then drag the vertical perspective correction slider for straighter structures.
