How to Remove objects >

-

While we all try to get the best composition possible, there will be times when we’re keen to capture a moment without thinking about every detail in the shot. Luckily, Photos’ editing tools make it super easy to remove unwanted objects, to the point where you’d never know anything had been there…

1 Unwanted elements

When composing a shot, we may not notice distracting elements, such as a telegraph pole poking up behind our subject’s head, sensor spots, plane contrails or distracting strands of grass.

2 Retouch

Click the Retouch brush icon. Drag the adjacent slider so the brush is larger than the unwanted object. Spray over the unwanted items; the Retouch brush replaces them with appropriate sky pixels.

3 Take control

To remove complex objects that overlap the subject, hold down the å key and click to define a clean area to sample. When you spray the sampled pixels are place over the unwanted object.

4 Fine-tune

Click on the Retouch brush icon to deselect it, then click on it again to choose the auto sampling version. Here, we’ve sprayed around the edge of the helmet to automatically replace the post with sky.
