1 Get zooming

Head to System Prefs > Accessibility and select Zoom from the left-hand pane. At the bottom of the right-hand pane, ensure the box to the left of Enable Hover Text is ticked. Now place the pointer over a piece of text and press ç.

2 Customise Hover Text

In the same Zoom menu, click the Options button next to Enable Hover Text. You can adjust the default size of any Hover Text you view, change the font, where the text appears and the default modifier key.

3 Change text colour

In the same menu again, click Colours. Here, you can change the display colours of Hover Text options from the text that appears to the border, as well the insertion point, making it even easier to see what you’re doing.
