HOW TO Locate pics quickly and easily

-

1 Search for a photo

Tap on the top-left corner to view the menu, then tap the magnifying glass. Type in your search. If you separate words with a space, Photos will look for images that match both terms, as if you had put ‘AND’ between them.

2 Narrow down a search

When your results appear, you can filter the search further by tapping on a location, Moment, Category, or Keyword. You will then be shown the photos that match both the search term and that filter.

3 Another way to filter results

Tap See All on the results screen, then tap the elipsis (…) at the top right of the screen. Tap Filter, then choose an option and press Done. To zoom in on results, use two fingers and unpinch, then pinch to zoom back in.

4 Add a caption to photos

Choose the photo you want to add a caption to and tap it to see it full screen. Swipe up over it to reveal the ‘Add a Caption’ bar beneath it. Tap in the bar and type your caption. Tap Done when you’re finished.

5 Hide photos from results

If there are photos you don’t want to show up in results, hide them. Navigate to the photo, tap it then tap Share. Choose Hide Photo, then Hide Photo again to confirm. It will now be hidden everywhere but the Hidden album.

6 Use Favourites as a filter

In step 3, one of the options when filtering photos is Favourites. So mark the photos you know you’ll want to search for as Favourites. Navigate to the photo, tap it, then tap the heart icon. It will now appear in the Favourites album.
