Ideal for iPad artists and MacBook users

- Rob Mead-Green

£49.99 FROM Twelve South, twelvesouth.com FEATURES Metal MacBook/iPad stand, 18° viewing angle, cable management

The 2021 ParcSlope may have the same name as its 2015 predecessor, but that’s where the similarities end. This time around we have an all-metal stand with rubberised inserts at the top and bottom for holding a MacBook or iPad in place – either of which sit at an 18° angle. The aim: a more comfortable typing/Touch Bar experience when used with a MacBook (Pro) and an equally pleasant sketching/drawing experience when using an iPad. And that almost is all there is to it. Luckily, the ParcSlope has some other things going for it – build quality is excellent, and the device sits solidly and flatly on a desk or worktop with little or no wobbling in use, and it offers cable management, plus cooling for your MacBook – thanks to its angled design and cutouts.

Typing on a MacBook using the ParcSlope feels weird at first, but you soon get used it – in fact we found we made less typing mistakes on a butterfly keyboard-equipped 15in MacBook Pro than we do normally – we certainly accidentally hit the Touch Bar a lot less. The ParcSlope also elevates the MacBook’s screen for a more comfortable viewing experience – not to eye level, but at a more convenient angle than resting it flat on your desk or lap.

With an iPad, again being able to securely rest its display at a comfortable viewing angle rather than laying it flat or propping it up with books or a book stand is great. It’s quite pricey for what it is but it is handy.

?? ?? It’s a basic bit of kit with no adjustment but it could be all you need for a comfortable experience.
