Messages
>Messages is finally on a par with its iOS counterpart, and with other messaging apps on the Mac. You can now pin up to nine messages to the top of the messages list, reply inline to specific messages in a group conversations, ‘mention’ participants in a group conversation, and choose its photo. GIFs and Memoji stickers come to the Mac and you can also create and edit Memoji’s in Big Sur Messages. When you first begin a conversation with someone new, you can choose whether to share your name and photo, or you can use a Memoji image or monogram instead. If you’re a fan of message effects in iOS, like fireworks and balloons, you’ll be pleased to see those are now in the Mac version, too. And if you use Messages a lot and often find yourself trawling through them looking for a specific message or photo, you’ll like the new search feature. It organises results into links, images, and to make it much easier to find what you’re looking for.
