OmniFocus

£9.49/month FROM omnigroup.com

- >

OmniFocus has a slightly convoluted pricing model, although the company says it is moving towards a more universal approach. The software is also slated to receive collaboration support later this year.

At present, it’s a slick and professional app with a single-window interface. Items can be grouped into Projects and each one contains Actions which appear in a list. Projects can be parallel, sequential or single actions depending on how they relate to other Projects. The Inspector panel reveals a handy series of tabs where you can enter parameters like status, due date, deferment, review dates and more. The Forecast view provides a simple overview of upcoming dates, and notes, images and even video can be attached to tasks. The Pro version enables custom Perspectives for advanced filtering and tagging, as well as greater customisation. A great personal task manager, if a little pricey.

VERDICT

Well designed, easy to use Good granular task editing Rather expensive No collaboration at present
