HOW TO Share your screen with FaceTime

-

1 Enable sharing

Open the Messages app, and in its Preferences select the ‘Shared with You’ tool at the right. In this window, ensure that automatic sharing is turned on, and that it’s enabled for each of the apps listed below.

2 Set Safari’s Start Page

Shared web links are the simplest to deal with. On Safari’s Start Page, open the menu from its control at the bottom right of the page and enable ‘Shared with You’ to show all received links on your Start Page.

3 Share from Safari

To share the current page as a web link use the Share tool at the upper right of the window. This can send that page to the open conversation in Messages ready for your friend to open that link in their web browser.

4 Share a stack of photos

To share images from Photos, select all the pics you want to send in a collection. The Share tool again offers to send these to your friend in the current conversation. They’ll then receive them either tiled or stacked.

5 View a stack of photos

Click on a stack you’ve received to view them in a Quick Look preview, from here you can add them to Photos, or send them on to someone else. Click the Save Photos button next to the stack to add them to iCloud Photos.

6 Podcasts and more

Other shared items in Messages work the same. Click on shared TV programmes to see them in the TV app, and similarly with Podcasts. To share from any of Apple’s media apps, use the same menu from the Share button.
