HOW TO Use unsubscribe and junk

1 Set up junk filtering

Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail. Check ‘Enable junk mail filtering’. Choose other options as required. Go to the Accounts tab. For each account, specify where junk mail should go and how quickly it should be deleted.

2 Mark messages as junk

If you see any spam mail in your inbox, click it, then click the junk mail button – a wastebasket with an ‘X’ in it. Alternatively, ≈-click the message and choose ‘Move to’ then Junk. Or press ç+ß+J.

3 Unsubscribe from a list

If Mail has identified a message as coming from a mailing list, it will display a message above the body of the email. To the right of the message, you’ll see the word Unsubscribe. Click on it to unsubscribe from the list.
