1 Denon’s long history of making high-end hi-fi certainly informs this soundbar. It comes with a wireless subwoofer, 2.1 sound with four drivers and HDMI ARC, optical and analogue inputs and a remote control. You also get Dolby Digital.

It features built-in Google Chromecast, offering access to a range of music streaming services, including Spotify, Tidal, and many more.

Chromecast integration allows for multi-room grouping with other Chromecast-enabled kit, too, and also opens the doors to voice control so long as you have a separate Google

Assistant device. Bluetooth is also on-board.

Even though there’s no dedicated centre speaker, dialogue was crisp and focused, and the depth of the soundstage admirable – there’s lots of bass too. Music playback was at least as good as the movie experience.

The DHT-S416 is a little light on features, but it’s a great-sounding system at an affordable price.
