1 Select option

Hide My Email should appear as an option whenever you’re prompted to enter your email address for a website you’re browsing in Safari. Sometimes this gets confused when you need to enter a username not an address.

2 Pick address

The service then offers you a dummy email address which it’ll insert into the form for you. If you don’t like the address offered, click on the icon at its left to generate a different one. Then click Continue.

3 Manage addresses

Once generated, that dummy email address is added to your addresses accessible in the Hide My Email item in the iCloud section of the Apple ID pane. When you want to use it for other purposes, use the Copy button.
