HOW TO Import and export passwords

1 Export passwords

If you want to use iCloud passwords in a third-party password app, you can export them as a CSV file. Go to System Prefs > Passwords, click the down arrow and choose Export Passwords. Click Export Passwords again.

2 Save the file

Give the CSV file a name and choose where to save it (bear in mind the sensitivity of the data and that the information is unencrypted). Click Save and authenticate with your account password or Touch ID.

3 Import passwords

In the third-party password manager, export your passwords as a CSV file and store it safely. In System Prefs > Passwords, click the down arrow and choose Import Passwords. Navigate to the file and choose Import.
