Chrome’s Ziptop Waistpack works well as a sling or a waist pack. It’s capacious, and the slim but tall profile is ideal for items like an iPad mini. There are two zippered pockets: a small iPhone-friendly front one, and a larger main compartment with two mesh pockets.

The 1050D nylon shell feels very hardy, and there’s a weather-resistant seam on the main compartment. Zippers are quality YKK and feature simple but effective nylon toggles – handily these have reflective elements woven into the fabric, which make you more visible at night. Chrome’s pack is comfortable to wear thanks to the wide strap, though we did find it a little on the long side in waist pack mode – great for those with a larger waist, however.
