Two new iPhone SE models coming
The iPhone SE could get a small upgrade in 2022, followed by a much more significant boost in 2023, according to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The details came alongside new information on the AirPods Pro, the Apple Watch, and a long-awaited future mixed reality headset (all detailed here and over the page).
Kuo’s latest report argues that the 2023 iPhone SE will come with 4GB of memory, an increase over the 3GB in the current model. It will also have a larger display, although the exact specifications are unknown.
The only update of note to the 2022 iPhone SE, meanwhile, is expected to be the addition of 5G. The same 4.7-inch chassis as the current model is likely to be used, according to display industry analyst Ross Young. Young also believes the 2022 iPhone SE will be branded ‘iPhone SE Plus’, although it’s unclear what else will justify the ‘Plus’ name tag. He also believes the 2023 model will be called ‘iPhone SE 3’ to mark it out from the Plus version.
