A revolutionary update for the open-source favourite

Computer graphics app Blender has received its biggest update in years as it steps up to version 3.0. This comprises performance improvements, new features, design tweaks and much more.

There are speed improvements that make a huge difference over time. For instance, moving around the viewport is faster, while rendering is now up to eight times faster.

Meanwhile, there’s a new drag-anddrop Asset Browser, the interface has been freshened up, and there are now thumbnail previews on the Video Sequencer. There’s a new Pose Library, the Grease Pencil has been revamped, and the Geometry Nodes system has been completely reimagined. In fact, there are too many changes to list here.

Blender 3.0 is free, although you can donate to support the developers’ good work.
