A brief history of Intel >
> Intel was founded by Gordon Moore, the man behind Moore’s law, and Robert Noyce, co-inventor of the microchip, on 18 July, 1968. By 1987 it was the 10th biggest semiconductor vendor in the world, and by 1992 it was top of the pile by revenue. It took until 2018 for the company to be displaced by Samsung. It has changed and diversified over the years, including launching a foundry business to produce chips in 2013. Intel announced a partnership with Mobileye in 2017, as it bids to play a vital role in the constantly evolving autonomous vehicle market.
