HOW TO Delegate reminder tasks
CONTINUED… Delegate reminder tasks
1 Create a new list
Before you can assign tasks, you need to create a shared list from which to assign them. In Reminders, tap Add List. Choose iCloud. Give the list a name, and, if you like, choose a colour for it and icon to represent it.
2 Share the list
Tap the list in the main Reminders screen. Tap the ‘…’ at the top right. Choose Share List. Select a method by which to share the list. Add the people you want to share with as recipients, and a message. Tap Send.
3 Assign a task
Once you’re sharing a list, tap it, then tap New Reminder. Give the reminder a name. Add details such as a date, flag or location. Tap the head and shoulders and choose someone to assign the reminder to. Tap Done.
4 Another way to share
Instead of assigning a task, you can tell Reminders to remind you of a task when you message someone. Tap the task, then the ‘i’ next to it. Turn When Messaging on. Tap Choose Person. Tap a name. Tap Done.
5 Create a Smart list
In Reminders’ main screen, tap Add List and iCloud then give the list a name, colour and icon. Tap ‘Make into Smart List’. Tap a filter to use it to automatically add tasks to the list. Choose a parameter. Tap Done.
6 Convert to a Smart List
To convert an existing list to a Smart List, tap it then tap the ‘…’ icon. Choose Show List Info. Swipe up and tap Convert to Smart List. You’ll see a message saying a tag has been appended to tasks in the list.
7 Add filters
When you convert a list, Reminders kicks you back to the main screen. Tap the list again, then the ‘…’, and choose Manage Smart List. You can now add filters and parameters in the same way as in Step 5.
8 Add tags
Tap any reminder in a list. In the options above the keyboard, choose the ‘#’ symbol. Type the tag you want to add, then tap ‘return’. Alternatively, tap ‘i’ next to a reminder and tap Tags on the next screen to choose one.
