HOW TO Install an ad blocker

1 Choose your weapon

Apple’s own Browse Better collection contains a good selection of ad blockers, although it’s only a small selection. To find out what each app does, click on its name and you’ll be taken to its App Store page for more details.

2 Install the app

Installing Safari extensions works just like installing any other App Store app. The next time you open Safari, you’ll see a message at the top of the main window asking if you want to enable your new extension.

3 Adjust its options

Your ad blocker will now appear as an icon to the left of Safari’s address bar. Clicking on it will open the extension; here that means seeing what options are enabled and whether the site you’re on is trying to invade your privacy.
