Logitech’s Z333 looks and works more like a conventional ‘multimedia’ computer speaker. With two satellite speakers and a subwoofer in the box, it’s still more compact than you might expect and can accept input via a 3.5mm jack or an RCA input, say, from a CD player or TV, though there’s no wireless or USB on offer. Everything is connected via the subwoofer, which also accepts mains power. There’s a bass level knob on the cabinet too, so you do have some control over this.

Oddly the tweeters on the satellites are for display only

and don’t house actual drivers. Since the sub sits at ground level, there’s a wired control ‘pod’ that powers the system on and off and controls volume. It also has a 3.5mm headphone socket. The 80W peak/40W RMS power means this speaker system is loud, and there’s lots of powerful bass available. That said, music playback is a little unfocused.

VERDICT

Affordable multimedia speakers Plenty of volume Limited inputs

A little muddy with music
