Apple MR headset delayed again
Apple’s mixed-reality headset has had a bumpy ride so far, and now it looks like it could be delayed into 2023. That’s according to reporter Mark Gurman, who has a very strong history of accurate Apple leaks.
Writing for Bloomberg, Gurman explained that “development snags,” including bugs around overheating, software and the device’s cameras, could mean Apple does not announce the product until late 2022 or even 2023, with the launch then being pushed back until well into 2023. Apple had planned to introduce the headset at this year’s WWDC event, according to Gurman, but that could be in doubt thanks to the latest issues. It’s just the latest in a long line of reported delays to Apple’s headset.
So far, reports have said Apple’s headset could offer both virtual and augmented reality, run on two powerful chips (with one rivalling the latest MacBook Pro in terms of power), and have highresolution displays with eye-tracking capabilities.
