HOW TO Create a radar chart

-

1 Add a chart

Navigate to the slide in your presentation to which you want to add the chart. Click Chart in the tool bar. About halfway down the palette that opens, on the left-hand side, you’ll see a radar chart. Click it to add it to the slide.

2 Manipulate the chart

Click on the chart and drag it to where you want it on the slide. To resize it, click on one of the corner handles and drag it inwards or outwards. You will see orange lines when your chart is centred horizontally or vertically.

3 Edit chart data

Click Edit Chart Data. Type the name of your data series in the top row, in place of the month names. Here, we’re using product attributes for iPhones, such as camera, storage, and screen size, which we’ll score.

4 Add more elements

On the left, where the template says Region 1, Region 2, add the names of what you’re plotting. In our case, different iPhones. Now we can add the data. So, we’ve typed in scores for each iPhone against each attribute.

5 Add a legend

At the moment, we can’t see which iPhone is which on our radar chart. To fix that, click the Chart tab in the Format palette and check the Legend box. Drag the legend into position. Click Title to add a title for the chart.

6 Adjust axes

To change the scale or look of the objects, click inside the chart and choose Format > Axis. Type numbers in the boxes under Axis Scale to change the scale, use the other options to change the look of the objects.
